Feline ear mites & canine ear mites are very common among cats, dogs, kittens and puppies and can cause severe irritation, discomfort and infection.

Signs of ear mites in cats & dogs are:

  • Fever

  • Scratching ears

  • Shaking of the head and ears

  • Rubbing the ears and face

  • Loss of balance

  • Walking in circles

  • Discharge or bleeding from the ears

  • Buildup of Exudates

  • Foul smell coming from the ears

  • Sensitivity to touching the ear area

  • General irritability

Other dog and cat ear problems are caused by bacteria and yeasts infections. Less commonly, allergies may play role in feline inflammation and infection of the ears, and in canine ear inflammation and infections.

What are ear mites?

Ear mites, or Otodectes cynotis, are small, parasitic creatures that normally live in the ears of pets causing severe itching and inflammation. Earmites can also live on the head or body of dogs and cats. They are difficult to see with the naked eye but you can't mistake the dark brown or black grainy substance in your pet's ears that looks similar to coffee grounds.

Earmites in cats and dogs ears, and on their skin can, live for some time. Earmites in dogs and cats are very mobile - allowing easy movement from pet to pet. Earmites are highly contagious and will spread between other pets in the same household and can be passed from the mother to her kittens or puppies. Humans are not normally affected.

Left untreated earmites can severly damage the ear canals and eardrum, cause loss of balance and eventually can lead to permanent hearing loss.

Secondary infections caused by bacteria or yeasts are common in dogs, puppies, cats and kittens that are infected with ear mites.

What is the conventional treatment?

Usual treatment of feline or canine ear infections usually involves antibiotics. In the case of ear mites, ear mite medication and products for flea control are also used. In severe ear mite infestations and multiple pet households, insecticides are sometimes used for treating the house or living environment.

Can Herbal Ear Mite Remedy Help?

As earmites and other ear infections are so often treated with antibiotics, chronic and recurrent ear infections are a growing problem and usually occur with decreased immune functioning - a frequent side-effect of antibiotic drugs.

Natural herbal ear mite remedies can treat and prevent infections of the ear without any of the side-effects of conventional earmite medicine. Treating cat earmites and dog earmites with herbal homoepathic, natural remedies prevents the adverse effects on immune system functioning that antibiotics cause.

How do I use Ear Dr.?

The ingredients of Ear Dr. are presented in a soothing olive oil base.

Hold your pet's head gently to one side and allow the drops to fall into the ear canal. Massage gently to spread the oil into the ear canal. Repeat 2 - 3 times daily for at least 7 - 10 days. Re-apply at the very first signs of re-infection. In the case of chronic ear problems, apply once or twice weekly as a preventative.

Cats and small dogs: 2-3 drops in the affected ear.

Medium-large dogs: 3-5 drops in the affected ear.

Note: For external use only. Please consult your veterinarian should symptoms persist. May be used together with Immunity & Liver Support for natural antibiotic effect.

How long until I see results?

Improvement in discomfort, itchiness and pain should begin almost immediately after applying the drops and will continue to improve over 1-3 weeks of regular use.

How long does one bottle last?

One 30 ml bottle of Ear Dr. will last for 20-40 days, depending on the size and needs of your pet.
